Wprowadzenie w naszej szkole zajęć konwersacyjnych "Don't be afraid to speak English" podyktowane jest chęcią  stworzenia uczniom klas IV-VIII możliwości nauki języka angielskiego ze szczególnym naciskiem na jego najistotniejszy aspekt- umiejętność sprawnego komunikowania się w języku angielskim. Rozbudzi to w  uczniach chęć zgłębiania wiedzy, ciekawość poznania nowych języków, motywację do dalszej edukacji, a przede wszystkim  pomoże przełamać barierę językową.

St. Patrick's Day

 

Święty Patryk jest patronem Irlandii, a najważniejszą tradycją obchodów tego dnia jest noszenie ubrań w kolorze zielonym. Zieleń to narodowy kolor Irlandii, nawiązujący do trawiastego krajobrazu wyspy i symbolizujący koniczynę, przypisywaną tradycyjnie świętemu Patrykowi. Głównym symbolem tego święta jest shamrock (koniczyna), która jest także jednym z symboli, związanych tradycyjnie z Irlandią. Według legendy o św. Patryku, wykorzystał on tę roślinę, aby wyjaśniać pierwszym irlandzkim chrześcijanom dogmat Trójcy Świętej. 

W tym roku również chcieliśmy obchodzić to święto w naszej szkole, jednak obecna sytuacja nie pozwoliła. Mieliśmy przygotowany taniec irlandzki, piosenki, ciekawostki – troszkę szkoda dobrze, że pozostały nam chociaż zdjęcia z przygotowań .

What does Easter celebrate?

Easter is a Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The Friday before Easter is called Good Friday. It is the day that Jesus was crucified on the cross at Calvary.

When is Easter celebrated?

Easter day moves around on the calendar each year, but is always on a Sunday. It is celebrated on the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox. It can occur anytime between March 22nd and April 25th.

• Around 90 million chocolate Easter bunnies are made for the holiday each year.
• The largest Easter egg ever made was over 25 feet high!

Jeff: It is located in an apartment complex and the building is about six years old, so it’s quite modern.

Jeff: Well, it is about a thirty minute drive from the city center.
Lucy: Wonderful. What about the price? I didn’t see one listed in the advertisement.
Jeff: It’s a thousand pounds a month not including utilities.
Lucy: Alright. That’s in my price range, so I’m very interested in looking at it. 
Jeff: Excellent! I’d be happy to show you the flat. I’m sure you will love it. Would you be able to come and see it tomorrow?
Lucy: Absolutely! I could come right after work. Is six o’clock okay with you?
